Questions about AI and credits

Do I have to pay to use SoundCraft?

The SoundCraft editor is free and needs no account. AI is optional: use your own API key and pay your provider, or sign in to use Craft credits.

Do the packs include different features?

No. Every pack gives access to the same supported Agent features and mixing advice. The difference is how many credits you buy. There is no subscription and credits do not expire.

How are credits used?

An Agent request can involve several model steps. Usage depends on the context and work needed, so one message does not always equal one credit. Mixing advice shows an estimated cost before you ask. Your balance updates as credits are used.

How do the free credits work?

New Craft Apps accounts receive welcome credits once, when the account is first created. The sign-up offer shows the current amount. They are shared across participating Craft sites. Signing into another Craft site with the same account does not grant another gift.

Is using my own API key free?

We do not charge a platform fee for own-key requests. Your provider charges for model usage under its own pricing. Requests go directly from your browser to that provider, without a Craft Apps sign-in. Choose a tool-capable chat model for the Agent and a text model for mixing advice.

What happens if an edit fails or I undo it?

A successful Agent model step uses credits even if a subsequent editing command cannot complete. Native editing commands have no separate model fee. Undoing an edit does not refund model usage already completed. Mixing advice is charged after the service returns an answer; closing the tab does not cancel a request already in progress. With your own key, your provider’s billing rules apply.

Does the Agent listen to my mix?

No. The editing Agent uses names and numeric session metadata, plus any text mix notes you attach. It never receives audio samples. Stop playback before asking it to edit, then audition the result yourself. Protected tracks and complex clips are not editable by the Agent.

Where can I use my credits?

One account and balance work across these participating Craft sites. Sign in with the same account on each.
