Terms of Service

Effective date: October 12, 2026

Introduction

SoundCraft Online (the “Site”), available at https://soundcraft.run, hosts the open-source SoundCraft digital audio workstation so it can be used in a web browser, together with guides and an optional AI assistant panel. These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) apply to your use of the Site. By using the Site you agree to them; if you do not, please do not use the Site.

Our Privacy Policy and Disclaimer form part of these Terms. Questions can be sent to contact@soundcraft.run.

What the Site Provides

The Site serves the unmodified SoundCraft web build, which runs entirely in your browser, plus guides and the AI assistant panel. It is free and needs no account. We may add, change or remove features at any time, and we may update the hosted SoundCraft build to newer releases.

The SoundCraft Software

SoundCraft is made by the ArtCraft team and contributors and licensed under the MIT License or the Apache License 2.0. Your use of the software itself is governed by that license, which ships with it at /app/LICENSE-MIT and /app/LICENSE-APACHE. The Site is independent of the SoundCraft project; see the Disclaimer.

Your Work

The browser version cannot import, save, record or export: it works on its built-in demo song or an empty session, and everything you change is lost when you close or reload the page. Use the desktop app for work you want to keep. We are not responsible for lost work.

The AI Assistant and Third-Party Providers

The AI assistant sends your questions directly from your browser to the AI provider whose API key you enter (for example OpenAI, Google or OpenRouter). That use is a relationship between you and the provider: their terms, usage policies, prices and data practices apply, and charges are billed to your account with them. We do not see, store or control those requests or their results.

Acceptable Use

You must not:

Our Content

The guides, page design and code written for the Site are owned by us. You may quote short passages with a link back. SoundCraft and the screenshots keep their own open licenses, listed on the About page.

Accuracy

Guides describe SoundCraft as we understand it at the time of writing. SoundCraft is pre-alpha software and changes with each release, so menus and behaviour may differ from what a guide says.

Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

The Site and the hosted software are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, files, work or profits, arising from your use of the Site, the app or the AI assistant.

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless against claims arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Site.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms. The updated version takes effect when posted here, with a new effective date. If you keep using the Site after an update, you accept the updated Terms.
